David Batch

David Jearl Batch, 67, of Hamilton, Texas passed away Oct. 4, 2022, at his home surrounded by family.

A graveside service was held Friday, Oct. 7, at 11 a.m. in Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton.

David was born in Fort Worth on October 19, 1954, to JB and Lavina Batch. He grew up in a very loving family and often reminisced of his parents, childhood friends and neighbors and his favorite cousin, Joy.

He met the love of his life, Becky, whom he adored, in 1994. In addition to his three children, with her came three little girls that he loved and treated like his own.

He was a jack of all trades and had several jobs, but for the majority of his career, he was a Commercial/Industrial Journeyman Electrician.

He was a man of many talents, but the greatest was his love for his family. He was the best Dad and “Papa,” who was idolized by his children and grandchildren as a hero that could do or fix anything. He was our strength, our compass, and our anchor. He taught us the value of faith, respect, responsibility and honesty, and he was a living example of them all in everything that he did.

He was famous to others for his skills in the kitchen. He had a motto “It’s not any good if you don’t make a mess,” and a mess he did make.

He was an avid sports fan who loved NASCAR, the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed playing golf.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of almost 30 years, Becky Batch; his children, son Brent and Elisha Batch, daughters Misty Martin, Stephanie Batch and Jose Osorio, Angela and Ethan Newton, Christina Parks and Shanna Thate; grandchildren Ashley, Emily and Brent Batch Jr., Andrew Martin, Isabella, Emma, Juan and Nicholas Osorio, Cayden Sellers, Riley and Eli Newton, Laci Donham, Gilbert, Christian, Jaden and Anthony Espitia and Jason and Kyle Loeser.
