Curtis D. Troutt, of Gustine, age 88 passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2023 in Hamilton.

Visitation was held at Riley Funeral Home in Hamilton on Wednesday, May 3 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 4 at Riley Funeral Home with burial following at Kingsbury Cemetery in Hamilton County near Evant.

He was born on February 8, 1935 in Evant to Thomas Carroll and Eva Estelle Davis Troutt.

Curtis was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather, and was known to his family as “Grandpa Curtis”. He graduated from Evant High School in 1953. He served in the US Army from 1956 - 1958. He spent his life traveling, playing his guitar and singing. He LOVED to sing!

When he wasn’t singing, he was a self-employed painter and raised cattle. He later retired from Texas Farm Bureau in Waco. After his retirement, he moved to Gustine and attended Pettit Baptist church, where he enjoyed singing and visiting with many friends.

He is survived by his daughter Twila Stark and hus-band James Adcock, grandchildren, Anisha Philips and husband Kevin, Noah Stark, Lane Troutt, Lacey Troutt, and Jerrod Adcock and wife Lea and great grandchildren: Kel Philips, Kenlee Philips and Alyson Ramirez and husband Jonathon and Rylan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carroll and Estelle Troutt; son, Larry Don Troutt; sister, Ovella Ruth and brother, Carroll Delton (Curly) Troutt.

Pallbearers are Randy Kroll, Shorty Grisham, Jim Gardner, John Banner, Dennis Prater, and Greyson Foddrell. Honorary pallbearers are stepsons Rocky Adcock and Kelley Adcock.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Pettit Baptist church, c/o Ronnie Calcot, 451 CR 270 Gustine, Texas 76455 or a charity of choice.
