Rebecca “Becky” Lynn Akard passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 11, 2021.

Visitation will be Friday, April 16, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Stephenville Funeral Home. Service will be conducted by Father Noy Sparks, Priest, at St. Mary’s Anglican Church on the corner of College and Main in Hamilton at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 17. Interment will follow in Country Oaks Cemetery in Hico.

Becky was born Jan. 21, 1959, in Fort Worth to Virgil Holloway and wife Glenda. She married her childhood sweetheart, James Akard, in St. Mary’s Church on July 17, 1976.

Becky enjoyed camping, fishing, reading and her animals. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and attending annual family reunions.

Becky, “Nana” cherished and had many fun memories with her grandchildren, Evelyn and Lainey.

In a career lasting over 25yrs, Becky established many relationships within the title and real estate industries. Becky was committed to the success of her employer, Hamilton County Abstract Co.

Becky is survived by her husband James; sons Will and wife Melissa and Chris and wife Emily; grandchildren Evelyn and Lainey; sister Vicki Holladay; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, all of whom she had great love and affection for. Becky had a special bond with her sister-in-law, Eloise O’Bannon, and her cousin, Denise Whisenhunt.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Virgil and Glenda; and sister Lori.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Hamilton or the Trinity Anglican Church in Dublin.

Through God’s promise, Becky has entered her eternal home.
