It was a good day on Monday Nov. 22, as I came in the driveway, I watched a huge red tailed hawk fly deftly through the trees on the hunt for lunch. The beauty of the moment reminded me why I lived out here in the country.
Hamiltonians are no strangers to holiday traffic as Highways 281 and 36 back up at the first scent of cranberry sauce.
I had a friend once who was traveling from West Texas to somewhere east of here and passed through a town close to here.
The filing period for places on the March 1, 2022, Texas Primary ballot is under way until 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 13.

About a month ago, a very pregnant, grey-striped cat showed up at my house.
On Nov. 14, 1954, a small-town Texas daily revealed rampant fraud and corruption in a state-sponsored land program. The expose earned a Pulitzer Prize for a courageous newspaperman and sent a high-ranking public official to prison.
The family of Robbie Dalton would like to express our sincere appreciation for all those who have offered kindness, support, and messages of encouragement and love in our bereavement. Thank you for your outpouring of love with food, flowers, cards, calls, visits, and memorial donations to honor Robbie’s memory. We wish to thank Solaris Hospice for the great care they gave Robbie in her final days, and for the love and special attention they gave to the family as she passed. We would also like to especially thank Dr. Randy Lee for his love, care, and concern for Robbie and our entire family. Another special thanks to her Bulldog family for helping us get through such a difficult time. Finally, we would like to thank the community of Hamilton for supporting all of us in her fight against cancer.
