State Bound Powerlifters

Though Hamilton ISD is closed for Spring Break, Kooken Field will be open for business this Thursday as Hamilton High School and Hamilton Junior High host the annual Extraco Relays.

SECOND ROUND RALLY

The Miles Sellers led Hamilton High School tennis team had a banner day on Wednesday of last week in Waco and returned home with a trio of bronze medals. The senior pairing of Laney Lane and Kinsey Mizell earned an 8-0 win over a tandem from Hillsboro and defeated another Hillsboro duo in round two, 8-4. After dropping a third-round match to a team from Crawford, 8-4, Lane and Mizell bounced back to grab a girls’ doubles bronze medal with an 8-3 victory over Hillsboro’s top pairing.

Following the Hamilton High School Extraco Relays to be held at Kooken Field this Thursday morning and early afternoon, Hamilton Junior High will take control as hosts, beginning with field events at 3:30 p.m. Hamilton’s junior high track and field squads have competed in three meets thus far, and the last was perhaps the most challenging.

By Grant Lengefeld The now 5-5 Hamilton Bulldogs played just one game last week after a home hardball contest scheduled for Friday versus non-district opponent Coleman was canceled due to high winds. On Tuesday of last week, the Dogs opened District 14 competition at home versus Aquilla. Despite a six-run deficit entering the bottom of the fifth, the Bulldogs scratched back with four runs in the final three frames only to come up short, 7-5.
