CLEAN SWEEP:For the third time this season, Hamilton’s varsity and two junior varsity volleyball squads perfected a three-match sweep over their opponent when they defeated Comanche on the road on Tuesday of last week.

Strike up the band. Football is here and the Friday night lights will be shining bright at Kooken Field this Friday as the Bulldogs usher in the much anticipated 2020 season versus the visiting Moody Bearcats at 7 p.m.

Long before the sun rises, Hamilton’s cross-country runners are hitting the trails in pursuit of another state title. Hamilton has claimed six cross-country state championships in all and has become a mainstay at the annual Texas UIL state meet.

Hamilton’s gridiron squads will finally face opposing colors as they travel to Comanche this Thursday for their first and only scrimmage of the season. Action in Comanche will kick-off at 6 pm.

The Lady Bulldogs hosted Dublin last Tuesday for their first home volleyball matches of the season and swept the visiting Lady Lions in seven games.

The Hamilton ISD Athletic Booster Club had another successful year for the 2019- 2020 school year.

The Hamilton Bulldogs strapped on the pads for the first time Saturday for an inter-squad scrimmage. Varsity and JV teams will face opposing colors Aug. 20 in Comanche. Head coach Casey Jones said, “We will release information later this week regarding attendance requirements for fans looking to travel to Comanche. Practice is going well, and our guys are excited and ready to face an opposing team.” Junior high players will report to the John D. Hall Field House at 8 a.m. Thursday. For 17 years, Oscar Zepeda of San Saba has been developing basketball players from San Saba and surrounding areas through the MOE basketball program. MOE is an acronym for “Matter of Effort”.

FALL BALL-According to head football coach and athletic director Casey Jones, 50 young men reported for the first day of football practice Monday with a couple more expected over the next couple of weeks.
