FFA LEADERSHIP COMPETITORS - Hamilton FFA students competed in the Cross Timbers FFA District Leadership Development Events contest in Eastland Monday. The Jr. FFA Quiz team, comprised of Addison Clowdus, Trint Jeschke, Masyn Raibourn and Colton Delagarza placed second and qualified to compete in the Area IV LDE on Nov. 21 at Wylie High School in Abilene. The Jr. Skills team of Nick Lalonde, Cooper Turner and Cooper Gardner placed third. The Sr. FFA Quiz team including Ryder Coker, Emily Eller, Brynn Emeyabbi and Joseph Polster placed fifth. AMERICAN ROYAL CHAMPIONS - Hamilton Junior High seventh grader Zeb Murphree, above, showed his heifer Stella Rose to win Champion Spring Yearling heifer at the American Royal Livestock Show in Kansas City, Missouri. Nine-year old Madison Evans, below, won Reserve Champion Overall Heifer in the Open Show at the American Royal Stock Show for 2022. This is her third year to attend. Last year, she won Grand Champion Overall with a heifer she showed in the Junior and Open Show.
Friday classes at Hamilton I.S.D. have been cancelled so everyone can travel to Round Rock to support the Bulldog and Lady Bulldog cross-country teams at the UIL State Cross Country Championships at Old Settler’s Park near Dell Diamond. Facing the top four teams from each of the state’s four regions, the Region II-2A champion Lady Bulldogs will fire off the starting line at 11:40 a.m. on Friday in pursuit of their seventh state title in program history. After placing second at state last year, the Region II-2A runner-up Bulldogs will be chasing their first ever state title beginning at 12:10 p.m.
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the Ross Street Theater, home of Hamilton Civic Theatre. Mike Ceresini and Glenn Jones have been busy constructing the set for “A Doublewide, Texas Christmas.” Susan Snyder and Julia Dailey have put the finishing touches on the set and the inside of the theater.
