Four people were bitten by a shark on July 4 at South Padre.
One report, attributed to Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, states that the last reported shark attack at South Padre was five years ago.
According to the Shark Research Institute, there have been seven shark bites in South Padres since 1953 with the last being a female who received lacerations to her foot in September 2017.
