Hopes of afternoons spent at Hamilton Municipal Pool this summer have been largely doused unless Hamilton City Council can find enough lifeguards to keep swimmers safe.
The pool is largely staffed by teenagers, and a squabble at the pool last year elevated to council chambers and beyond and resulted in months of back-and-forth between the council and parents and grandparents of several lifeguards.
