Sophomore Kayla Tawater made a splash at the District 12-2A Track and Field Championships in Rio Vista last Wednesday and Thursday, dunking gold medals in both the JV 800-meter run and the JV 1600-meter run, while placing second behind only Hamilton’s Brynn Emeyabbi in the 400-meter dash.
