After the Republican May 24 primary runoff election, James Yates was elected county judge since there was no candidate on the Democratic ticket.
Yates is currently employed by Riley Funeral Home and will take office Jan. 1, 2023.
Yates received 642 votes and candidate Robert Looney received 383 votes.
