Barbara Sanders knew she wanted to be a nurse since she was eight years old.
“My mother told me I used to wrap up my dolls in gauze and give them shots,” laughed Sanders.
After a 50-year nursing career, Sanders is retiring at the end of January.
Sanders, a native Hamiltonian, began her nursing work in 1966 as a nurse’s assistant at Hamilton General Hospital while she was still in high school.
