While cattle is king in Hamilton county, King Cotton is experiencing a resurrection.
David Melde of Aleman harvested 200 acres of cotton last week and was pleased with the crop.
“We averaged 1 ¼ bales per acre,” said Melde, a fourth generation cotton grower. “One field made well over 1 ½ .”
