Hamilton Independent School District will add nicotine to its drug screening panel this fall, according to Superintendent Clay Tarpley.
It’s not smokers they seek, but vapers.
“We do have a vaping problem in our school,” Tarpley said.
“Vaping is dangerous for our kids because it’s addictive and destroys the lungs in a way cigarettes don’t. The lungs can’t regenerate from the vapor.”
