The State of Texas is changing its legal age to buy and use tobacco products from 18 to 21, as told in Senate Bill
21. Gov Greg Abbott signed the bill into effect on Friday. The change will go into effect Sept. 1, with an exception for military personnel, who will still be allowed to purchase tobacco at the age of 18 with valid military ID.
