Jimmy Ray Davis, 78, of Hamilton, passed away peacefully on Sept. 15, 2026.
Jimmy was born on Nov. 14, 1947, to James and Ruby Davis of Southlake.
Jimmy graduated from Southlake Carroll in 1966 in their first ever graduating class. Jimmy worked as a Journeyman Electrician for 48 years; he was also a professional musician from the age of 12. Jimmy was in several bands throughout the years including Mankind and
Shiloh. Throughout his musical career Jimmy had the opportunity to play with a lot of the greats in both country and rock n roll. When Jimmy wasn’t working, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. Jimmy was very proud of how he and his wife Barbara were able to blend their families together. In 2002 Jimmy and Barbara moved to Hamilton, where they lived until his passing.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents James and Ruby Davis and grandson Dustin Davis.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Davis, brother Jerry Davis, sister Cindy Rhodes, son Jamey Davis, daughters Jill Honeycutt and husband James, Leslie Caster and husband Donald, Taylor Baxter and husband Dustin, Jo’Dee Davis, step-daughter Michelle Pearson and husband TJ, and grandchildren Clayton, Braydon, Catherine, Lexi, Dustin, Kyhlynn, Kynslee, Jaydon and Avery.
A memorial service will be held in the Fellowship Hall at the First United Methodist Church in Hamilton, on Saturday, Sept. 26 from 1p.m. to 4 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Forrest Culp, Preston Culp, Ryan Platt, and Connor Platt.
