COW TREATS- Local farmers chop corn to make silage to feed dairy cows throughout Texas. Silage trucks by the dozen have been going through town for the past several weeks. The US Department of Agriculture reported in Texas Agriculture Statistics that in 2022 Texans harvested 260,000 acres to make 3.9 million tons of corn silage, or about 15 tons per acre.
