U.S. Postal Service rates increased Jan. 22.
The forever stamp rose from 60 cents to 63.
The proposed increases were filed with the Postal Regulatory Commission in October to offset the rise in inflation.
The price for one-ounce metered mail increased to 60 cents, and the price to send a domestic postcard is now 48 cents.
A one-ounce letter mailed to another country now costs $1.45.
