Susan Grant Anglin, 75, of Austin passed away peacefully during the early morning hours on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2023.

Graveside services were held Feb. 5 in Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Riley Funeral Home.

Susan was born Nov. 24, 1947, to Otis and Margaret Grant in Fort Worth. She grew up with her younger sister, Cinthia Grant Wilson, in Hamilton. Susan was a diligent student and attended Hamilton High School. Her favorite childhood hobbies included Blue Birds, Campfire Girls, Horizon Club and piano.

On June 1, 1971, Susan was united in holy matrimony to Walter Sumerford Anglin of Hamilton. Susan and Walter went on to have three children, Susan Cordelia Anglin Adams, Toby Grant Anglin and Walter Andrew Anglin.

Many who knew Susan remember her for her love of faith, family, career and being a mom. She enjoyed baking where many family and friends are very familiar with her incredibly delicious homemade breads, sweet rolls, pound cakes and pies she baked throughout the years. She worked for her father at Otis Grant Insurance Agency for many years and later served as Justice of the Peace, Precinct 1 in Hamilton for 2 ½. Later in life while living in Austin she was a sales associate for a few leading home builders.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents Otis and Margaret Grant and husbands David Hatch of Hamilton and Walter Anglin of Hamilton.

She is survived by sister Cinthia Wilson and brother-inlaw TJ of Gustine; her greatest joys were her children, daughter Cordie Anglin Adams of Dallas, son Toby Anglin and wife Mary of Pampa and son Andrew Anglin of Austin; six grandchildren, Ryan, Tyler, Amber, Christopher, Trevor, and Megan; four great-grandchildren Amelia, Marshall, Isabelle and Matthew; nephew Shea Wilson and wife Misty of Hamilton; niece Keslie Koether and husband Trenton of Hamilton; great-nieces and -nephews Blake, Braylee, Kyler and Khloe; and many cousins.

Pallbearers were Shea Wilson, Trenton Koether, Ryan Adams, Tyler Adams, Christopher Adams, Blake Mizell, Trevor Anglin and honorary pallbearer Kyler Koether.
