Myrtle Estella Massingill Davis, 95, a resident of Hamilton Healthcare Center, went to her heavenly home on April 24, 2019.

Graveside services were April 26 in Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Riley Funeral Home.

“Myrt” was born Dec. 19, 1923, the fifth of 11 children of George Roy Massingill and Lenora Angeline (Susie) Bass Massingill in Coryell County.

She worked on the farm and attended Ireland School. After graduation she moved to Fort Worth and worked at Convair assembling aircraft.

She moved back to Hamilton and married James Cleo Thompson, and they had a son, Robert Cleo. She later married Roy Sidney Davis.

She worked at Patty’s of Texas and later retired from Walls Industries. She was an excellent seamstress and cook and loved her garden and flowers,

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Roy Sidney Davis; son James Cleo Thompson; stepsons Hugh Wayne Davis, Gene Davis and Bobby Davis; eight siblings, Evelyn Mae Thompson and husband Floyd, Totis Marie Robuck and husband Billy C., Iona Brawner and husband Tom, Rita Sue Craig, Virgil Wesley Massingill and wife Etheridge, Elton Leroy Massingill, Willis Dalton Massingill and Paul Edward Massingill; and brother-in-law Murlin Bottlinger.

Survivors include a brother, J.T. Massingill and wife Clydell; sister Mildred Bottlinger; sister-in-law Margaret Massingill; brother-in-law Tommy Craig; stepson Charles Davis and wife Jane; step daughter-in-law Jimmy Davis; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
