Michael ‘Mike’ Lynn Kirkland

Michael “Mike” Kirkland, 58 passed away Sept. 29, 2021 at home surrounded by family.

A Memorial service was held Monday, Oct. 4 at Sale Barn Cowboy Church in Wichita Falls.

Mike was born Sept. 30, 1962 in Hamilton to Kenny and Charlene Kirkland. He dedicated his life to his family.

He met the love of his life, Beverly, when he was 7 and she was 5. They were married on April 23, 1983.

In 1987, he became a proud father of a daughter, Marla, and then again in 1989 with a son, Ryan.

Mike was a devoted son, father, grandfather, and musician. He held many titles over the years including restaurant owner, meat processor/owner, construction owner/operator, monument sales agent/setter, and musician.

Many knew him as “Cookie”, but to us, he was our hero. He will be greatly missed by those who loved and knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly; daughter, Marla Bailey and husband Justin; son, Ryan Kirkland and Taylor Kirkland; mother, Charlene Kirkland; six grandchildren: Hanna, Taryn, Lynlee, Wyatt, Ila and Oren, and many other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Kenneth Kirkland and brother, Alan Kirkland.

In lieu of flowers, Mike requested that donations be made to the Sale Barn Cowboy Church or Hospice of Wichita Falls.
