KG Eary

Thursday, September 23, 2021

Kenneth Glenn Eary “KG” passed away Sept. 17, 2021.

Graveside services were Wednesday in Oakwood Cemetery, Hamilton.

He was born Dec. 17, 1938, in Hamilton to Russell Theodore and Eula Pearl Railsback Eary.

KG enlisted in the US Navy in 1955 at the age of 17 where he earned the nickname Tex. He was a plank holder on two separate naval ships and recommissioned the USS Worden. He served 23 years as an engineman before retiring back to Texas. After retirement, he worked as a diesel mechanic (headman) at Diesel Power and Supply.

KG loved to share his love of the outdoors with his family. All his kids and grandkids have fond memories of archery, guns, knives, sling shots and bonfires. He had a love of sitting on the patio and storytelling with anyone who visited. He loved to experiment in the kitchen, eat a big meal and then retire to his recliner.

In his younger days, he played in a band although he never learned to read music. He learned by ear. He could still be found in his later years with his guitar out in his “doghouse” picking away no matter how hot it was out. He will be remembered and talked about often by his loved ones.

He is survived by his wife, Violet Marie; their children Debbie (Mike) Miller, Pamela (Tim) Pumphrey, Russell (Flavia) Eary, and Wanda Fountain; their grandchildren Christopher (Kelly) Miller, Michael (Stacey) Miller, Tamara (Lester) Roberts, Amanda (Richard) Jarrett, John David Fountain, Cory Eary, Jessica (JonEric) Montez, Chelsea Eary, Zachary (Shawnee) Miller; and 17 great-grandchildren.
