Josh Squyres

Josh Allen Squyres, 38, of Jonesboro, went to be with Jesus on Aug. 14, 2021.

Memorial services were held Friday, Aug. 20, at the Mound Cowboy Church Pavilion, Gatesville, with Pastor Bruce Cox officiating. Burial was in Wolff Family Cemetery.

Josh was born in Clifton on May 11, 1983, to Dayle and Gayla Squyres. He was led in his faith and was baptized and confirmed at the St. John Lutheran Church in Hamilton. Josh grew up in Jonesboro and graduated from Jonesboro High School in 2001. Josh loved to help on the family farm and spend time with his family.

He dated Elisha Wolff in high school, but they parted ways for a bit and Josh attended Texas State Technical College, where he obtained an associate degree. God brought Josh and Elisha back together in 2011, and on Aug. 17, 2013, they were married, and Josh gained a son, Carson. In 2016 they welcomed their little girl, Kinzlee, and completed their family.

Josh worked as a manager at Attic Breeze in Gatesville for many years. This past spring, Josh and Elisha bought a house and settled in Jonesboro. Josh was in the process of remodeling their home to make it just perfect for his family. He loved his family very much, and making Elisha, Carson and Kinzlee smile is what made Josh happy.

Josh is preceded in death by his grandparents, August and Maurine Braun and Clark and Ruth Squyres; and father-in-law Freddie Wolff.

Josh is survived by his wife, Elisha; children Carson and Kinzlee; parents Dayle and Gayla Squyres; mother-in-law Pam Wolff; brother Justin Squyres and wife Cynthia; brother-in-law Brent Wolff and wife Lori; nieces and nephews Levi Martin, Maddie, Emma and Mason Squyres and Bailey and Jozie Wolff; special aunt Shirley Sellers; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorial donations may be made to Autism Awareness at aane.org; National MS Society for Multiple Sclerosis at nationalmssociety.org; or a fund for the family has been set up at the MC Bank of Hamilton under Elisha Squyres Benefit Fund.
