Johnafaye Dryman Flippen, 73, of Evant, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2020, in Gatesville.

Private family graveside services were held at Murphree Cemetery. Memorial services will be announced at a later date.

Johnafaye was born March 5, 1947, in Monahans, to the late James Edward and Aimee Davidson Dryman. She grew up and went to school in Goldthwaite, graduating from Goldthwaite High School. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Tarleton State University.

She married Jimmy Flippen on June 24, 1972.

She was an educator her whole career and taught school in Star, Copperas Cove, Evant and Hamilton. She retired from teaching with 34 years of service to public education. She was a member of the

She was a member of the Baptist faith and the Order of Eastern Star Chapter #1007 in Gatesville.

She was preceded in death by her husband on June 22, 2013.

She is survived by her two children, Jason Flippen and wife Tracy and John Flippen and wife Keri; seven grandchildren, Ramey Barnett and husband Bryce, Brittany Bates, Avery Cole and husband Landon, Reb Flippen and wife Katilin, Aimee Flippen, Case Flippen and John (J.J.) Flippen Jr; and three great-grandchildren, Ashby, Quinlynn and Logan. Memorials may be made
