Joe C. Dalton, 86, of Hamilton died March 20, 2020.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Joe was born Sept. 8, 1933, in Purvis to Elder Len and Mollie Lou Wells Dalton. He was raised in the Hamilton area and married Wanda Nell Jackson on July 14, 1953, with his father holding the Rites of Matrimony.

In 1966, Joe and Wanda started Dalton Drilling Service to serve the Hamilton County area. He was a local pilot for 15 years, a member of the Hamilton Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years and helped with all the county fire department services.

Joe was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hamilton and loved to spend time with his coffee friends and hanging out at the Hamilton Airport.

He is survived by his wife Wanda Dalton; son Tom Dalton and wife Robbie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He had longtime special friend Keith Curry and special adopted sons Howard Pierson, Steve Watson, Keith Allen Curry, Darryl Marwitz and Scott Lee that he claimed as his own.

The family wishes to thank Bluebonnet Hospice care and nursing staff.

Memorial donations can be made to any of the Hamilton County volunteer fire departments.
