Jimmie Harden Joiner, 80, went to be with Jesus in his eternal heavenly home on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2020, after a hard-fought battle with a long illness.

Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Riley Funeral Home, 402 W. Main, Hamilton. Celebration of life will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Riley Funeral Home followed by graveside service in McGirk Cemetery, 8576 CR 512.

Jimmie will be remembered for his love of his family, while his belief in Christ supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace.

His three daughters, two children-in-loves, nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, siblings and numerous nephews and nieces adored him.

Jimmie was born Dec. 10, 1939, in Runnels County to Willis J. (Rowdy) Joiner and Lavern E. (King) Joiner. He was raised in Paint Rock with seven brothers and sisters, Julius W. Joiner, Martha L. Shifflett, Jeff G. Joiner, Linda M. Harrell, Johnny R. Joiner, Wanda L. Rock and Lloyd W. Joiner.

After attending school in Paint Rock, Jimmie met his first wife LaVerne M. (Underwood) in Abilene, with whom he had three daughters, Chelyn C. Shaw, Dawn R. (Nina) Joiner and Channa J. Hobbs

He served six years in the Marine Reserves, work ing most of his whole life in the oilfield, earning many college credits and working his way up to international consultant before semi-retiring to his ranch in Hamilton County, working the land and livestock for 40 years.

Jimmie loved his daughters, family and animals, and they loved him.

Jimmie was kind, softspoken, wise, of few words, faithful, funny, strong, he enjoyed ranching, hunting, fishing, family time and going to breakfast with his buddies at “0-dark-30.”

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Julius and Jeff; two nephews and his second wife, Jenny L. Joiner.
