James Harbin

On Sunday, Jan. 3, 2021, James Wayne Harbin, loving father, grandfather and brother, passed away at age 75.

James was born a twin on Feb. 4, 1945, in Anniston, Alabama, to Clifford Lamar Harbin and Margaret Nell Williamson Harbin.

He graduated Spring Garden High School and entered the Air Force.

James is the father to four children, Rhonda, Mike, Robin and Michelle.

James had a love for family and Alabama football that was unmatched by anyone. He spent years working and volunteering in the communities where he lived and spent all of his time making sure things were clean and beautiful. His pride and joy were Storm’s Drive In and the Country Kitchen in Lampasas.

He loved to play checkers. He would sit quietly and let you steal all of his checkers except one, then he would wipe your board clean.

His smile and laughter were contagious. He had a huge heart and would help anyone that needed it.

James was a believer, and he loved the Lord.

He was preceded in death by his father Clifford and mother Margaret (Nellie), brother Paul Harbin, sisters Betty Harbin, Anne York, Sammie Turner and his twin Janice Harbin.

James is survived by his four children, Rhonda Herring of Hamilton, Mike Harbin and wife Heather of Port Townsend, Washington, Robin Donahoo and husband Brent of Hamilton and Michelle Lopez Lamb and husband David of Hamilton; 19 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
