Gary Morgan

Gary Gene Morgan, 62, gained his wings April 19, 2022, after a long battle with lung cancer.

Services were Saturday, April 30, at Riley Funeral Home.

He was born on January 13, 1960, in Taylor to T.T. and Emma Morgan. At an early age he started working alongside his dad in the cotton gin and fell in love with the industry.

He went on to spend most of his life doing what he loved. He travelled throughout the US and many other countries, managing, repairing and building cotton gins.

No matter where he was, Gary never knew a stranger and could always find something to talk about. He was a devoted family man and loved everyone unconditionally.

When he wasn’t working, you could find him camping in the mountains or casting a line. He also loved riding his many motorcycles. He loved to sing, and knew the words to every old country song.

Gary was also a brilliant handyman. If it was broke, he could fix it. If it needed to be built, he could build it. Whenever anyone had a question about how to repair something, Gary was the man to call.

Gary was very proud of his children and grandchildren. He was the type of father and grandfather that never had to tell you he loved you because you always felt it in your heart.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Emily, Nora Terry and Charlotte.

Gary is survived by his wife Trudy; his beloved puppy Maggie; children Nicole Fry (Kevin), Mandy DuMond (Charles), Misty Meyer (Mark), Kendra Norton (Kyle), Buddy Stewart (Shandi) and Bobby Baker; sisters Marie Helmick (Gary), Becky Alexander (Roy) and Melody Story (David); brothers-in-law Larry Stone and William Schnoebelen; father-in-law Bob Schnoebelen; mother-in-law Judy; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
