Frances Parr

Frances Virginia Parr passed away Dec. 28, 2022, at her home in Evant.

Frances was born Sept. 17, 1928, in Moffett, Colorado, to Earl Ruggles and Mildred (Baker) Ruggles.

Her parents owned a ranch in Moffett where she helped with day-to-day ranch work and helped keep the home along beside her nine brothers and sisters. Frances attended Adams State University College in Alamosa, Colorado, to be a teacher.

Eugene Ruggles and Floyd Parr were drafted into the Armed Forces at the same time, this was how Frances met the love of her life. Floyd and Frances married in 1948. They moved a couple of times until they settled on Evant in June 1959.

Frances worked at Evant School as the school secretary and then at The First National Bank of Evant as the head teller. She also worked on the ranch until her passing.

Frances is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Mildred Ruggles; her husband Floyd Parr; and seven brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her sons Danny and wife Pat Parr and Dee and wife Sarah Parr, all of Evant; a brother, Jack Ruggles; sister Billie Carpenter; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews to cherish her memory.
