Chris McFarlin

Christine Irene McFarlin, 82, passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, in Arlington.

Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 8, at Riley Funeral Home.

Chris was born the daughter of Barney Whorar and Ivy Irene (Henderson) Riley on Dec. 22,1938, in Hamilton County.

She married Bobby J McFarlin May 15, 1955. They were blessed with two daughters, Carla Jo and Vicki June.

Chris lived in Hamilton for most of her life. She was a strong and well-respected nurse who cared for her community. She enjoyed phone calls with friends, lunch and shopping dates with her grandkids, reading murder mysteries and watching lady UConn and Baylor basketball.

Chris was preceded in death by her parents, Barney and Ivy Riley; her husband of 65 years, Bob McFarlin; brother Floyd Riley; and sister Barbara Lackey.

She is survived by her daughters Carla Smith and husband Donnie of Glen Rose and Vicki McGilvray of Burnet; grandchildren Keri Brooks and husband Rookie of Arlington and Loren Bell and husband Jimmy of Hico; great-grandchildren Kylee Brooks, Grayson Brooks, Halo Bell, Sawyer Bell and Archer Bell; sisters and brother, Winnell Jameson of Hico, Joyce Thompson of New Mexico and Raymond Riley of Hamilton.
