Charlene Kirkland, 80, passed away Jan. 27, 2022, surrounded by family. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 5, at The Barn Church in Hamilton.

Charlene was born April 1, 1941, to Alvie and Audrey Andrews. She dedicated her life to her family. One of 16 children, Charlene spent many years taking care of her brothers and sisters.

She married the love her life, Paul Kirkland, on Sept. 13, 1958. One year later they welcomed their first son, Alan, and completed their family in 1962 with the birth of Mike. Charlene adored her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and never hesitated to let them know they were loved.

Charlene spent 40 years working for Coryell Memorial Healthcare. She retired as the director of materials management, but worked in many areas including housekeeping, purchasing, communications, maintenance, ambulance service, building projects and acting director for other departments. Above all else, she served as a leader and mentor for the organization.

To know her was to love her. She will forever be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by daughter-in-law Beverly Kirkland; grandchildren Marla and Justin Bailey, Jessica and Andrew Quezada, Ryan and Taylor Kirkland and Justin Kirkland; seven siblings, Clara Lancaster, Corky Cathey, Mary Brumbalow, Naomi Weems, Esther Miloy, Brenda Edwards and Kenneth Andrews; and nine great-grandchildren, Hanna, Jayden, Taryn, Lynlee, Jayce, Wyatt, Bryce, Ila and Oren, along with many other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvie and Audrey Andrews, husband Paul Kirkland, sons Alan and Mike Kirkland and six siblings, Eddie Andrews, Dalton Andrews, Doris Donald, Bert Andrews, Ruth Jones, Audrey Meade, Marvin Andrews and Bernard Andrews.
