Carl Bubert, 82, died March 18, 2019.

Funeral services were held March 21 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shive with burial in the St. Paul Cemetery.

Mr. Bubert was born April 4, 1936, to Henry Alvin Bubert and Emma Matilda Zettler Bubert in Shive. He was baptized May 3, 1936, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shive where he was also confirmed a few years later.

On Aug. 17, 1957, he married his loving wife LaVerne Nadine Goerdel Bubert. Together they raised four children.

He was a farmer and rancher all his life. He served several years on the Hamilton school board, Soil Conservation Board and with the ASCS. He received the Lone Star Farmer Degree, Outstanding Farmer Award and Outstanding Resident Conservationist award. Carl believed in leaving the land in better shape than he found it.

He was very active in church and held various positions on the church council throughout his life.

He was preceeded in death by his parents, Henry and Emma Bubert; sister LaVerna and brother-in-law Clarence Goerdel; niece Ruth Goerdel Stegemoller; nephew David Goerdel; and great-nephew Blake Goerdel.

Survivors include his wife LaVerne (“Merne”) of 61 years of Hamilton; children Alvin Bubert of Hamilton; Sharon Bubert McDougal and husband Jerry of Clifton; Linda Bubert Noll and husband David of Falls City and Kathryn Bubert Schrank and husband Michael of Hamilton; six grandchildren Michael Noll and wife Allison, Carla McDougal Rhodes and husband Andy, Melissa Schrank, Krystal Noll Kolodziej and husband James, Zachary Schrank and Kaytlyn Schrank; and two great-granddaughters, Kaelyn Marie Price and Macey Ruth Noll.

Memorials may be made to charity of choice.
