Brian Geeslin

Brian Kent Geeslin, 49, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2022.

A graveside service was held in Goldthwaite Memorial Cemetery Saturday, Sept. 17.

He was born June 26, 1973, in Goldthwaite to Kent and Mary Geeslin. Brian grew up in the small town of Goldthwaite, where he attended school from first grade through the completion of high school. He graduated in 1991. Brian grew many great friendships during his school years where he continued throughout college and the course of his life.

Brian was known to his friends and family for having a taste for adventure and those who knew him well knew it was not wise to dare him to do anything unless they wanted to see it happen.

Brian also had a gift for math and a mechanical mind, which led him to obtain a civil engineering degree from the University of Texas in May of 1996.

Upon moving back to Goldthwaite, Brian became employed with Hamilton County Electric Cooperative as a lineman and worked his way up to manager of engineering. He had a passion for his line of work and over the 24 years of his career, grew many lasting friendships with his coworkers.

Brian’s greatest joy in life were his two children, Ellis and Brilee, and after marrying the love of his life Megan, gained a stepson who he loved as his own, Bryson.

One of his favorite things to do in life was teach people, especially his children. Brian shared his love of mechanics with his son Ellis. They worked on many Jeep and Ranger projects together making lasting memories. He spent many evenings with Brilee teaching her to drive on dirt roads and taking her to check cows. He taught all three of his children how to shoot guns and helped them shoot their first deer. They loved going Jeeping as a family, often seen out in the pastures in a caravan with their Jeep, Ranger and four wheelers.

Brian was also known to his family and friends as the person to call when anyone needed anything fixed from electrical problems, plumbing problems, water well problems and to help with math homework. He was always willing and glad to help out whenever he could.

Brian was a great father, husband, brother, uncle and friend to so many and will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Geeslin and father, Kent Geeslin.

Brian is survived by his wife, Megan, and children, Ellis, Brilee, and Bryson; brother Michael Geeslin and wife Anissa; sister Kristi Leverett and husband Joe, and their children, Lainey and Jacob Leverett; stepmother, Neta Geeslin and stepsiblings Jenny Amonett and Craig Auldridge; and many nieces, nephews, cousin, aunts and uncles.
