Betty Ann Opryshek, 88, of Hamilton passed away Friday, Jan. 11, 2019.

A memorial service will be Jan. 26 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pottsville.

Mrs. Opryshek was born June 2, 1930, in Baytown to Lila and Ray Cecil Weaver Sr.

She was a woman of faith who daily read her devotionals and prayed before beginning her day. She loved to write children’s stories and songs for her grandchildren. She submitted the Shive News to the Hamilton Herald-News for a few years. Betty and John loved traveling with RV club friends.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Ray C. Weaver and Billy Jack Weaver, and son-in-law Matthew Parsley.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years, John Opryshek; and four daughters, Linda Jarnagin and husband Glenn, Penny Stovall, Susan Hunter and husband Terry and Lynne Parsley.

The family suggests memorials to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, PO Box 199300 Dallas, TX 75219 or the charity of choice.
