Anna Lou Bradberry

Anna Lou Fuqua Bradberry, 85, passed away Sept. 6, 2018.

Graveside services will be held at Gentry’s Mill Cemetery at 2 p.m. Sept. 17.

Dr. Bradberry was born June 20, 1933 to, Dr. Robert Oliver Fuqua and Clara “Sugar” Pauline (Pierson) Fuqua.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Big Spring.

She was a “perpetual student,” earning her bachelor’s degree from Hardin Simmons University in 1953, a master’s from North Texas State in 1955 and a Doctor of Philosophy in 1973 from North Texas State University. She held teaching positions at Hardin Simmons University and Howard College.

She lived in Big Spring, where she cared for her husband, “Bob” who preceded her in death on March 25, 1986. In 2010, she joined her son, Benjamin, in Wesley Chapel, Florida, where she remained the rest of her life.

Survivors include sons Benjamin Mark (Kari Lea) Bradberry of Wesley Chapel; and Thomas Oliver Bradberry of Big Spring; sister Roberta (Duane) McQueen of Lubbock; nieces Clarissa (Keith) Bell and Tara (Michael) Williams, both of Lubbock; several great nieces and nephews, as well as many cousins.

Memorial donations may be made to Gulfside Hospice, 2061 Collier Parkway, Land O’ Lakes, FL 34639, for without them, caring for Anna Lou would not have been possible.
